Katherine's teaching style was almost the complete opposite from the teaching style portrayed in the extract. Katherine was a supporter of a teaching style known as progressive while the one in the extract is more traditional. She encouraged her students to be individuals and think for themselves. Katherine was very much a feminists and encouraged the women in her class not to abide by the traditional roles that women were given. The teaching style portrayed in the extract wants the teachers to focus solely on facts. This suggests that freedom of thought and speech was not encouraged in the classroom. The traditional teaching style did not allow personal relationships like Katherine had with her students. She gave them advice when they were making life changing decisions and even went as far as to help one of her students apply for law school. Katherine's progressive teaching style differs from the style portrayed in the extract in many ways. Her teaching style allowed her students to have the freedom of speech, opinion, and thought which opened the door for her and her students to have personal relationships. However, the traditional teaching style focused solely on facts and only allowed professional behavior between students and teachers.

My favorite theme from the movie was that you should do what makes you happy. No matter what your friends, family, or society thinks you should never conform to others and their beliefs, especially if you must sacrifice your happiness. This was my favorite theme and it stuck with me because I support individualism one hundred percent. I believe it is those who dare to be different that make up our history books. Those who refuse to conform and change who they really are end up leaving their legacy in society or even the world, although most are not recognized for it during their own lifetimes. However, they are not bothered by this because they do not seek recognition nor acceptance form others.

I think "Mona Lisa Smile" will be about women at a college who attempt to alter the way women and the importance of women's education is viewed in society. The movie seems to be be based off true events considering during this time period the views on women's education did began to change. The main character seems to be trying to change her female students along with societies views on women's roles. I think movie will be a valuable lesson about the power a group, in this case women, can have when they unite and try to make a change. I expect this movie to be both educating and entertaining.

I think that high school exams and college exams are very different. High school exams cover less information and are more frequent while college exams cover a mass of information and are less frequent. I think that high school exams are easier because its less information to study and to remember. However, college exams allow students to have way more time to study which is beneficial due to the fact that students must study more material. I can prepare for both college and high school exams by first paying attention in class and doing things such as take notes. Secondly, I can ask questions and make sure I actually know the information when it is initially taught. Lastly, I can gradually study at a pace that works for me and allows me to study all the information I need to know.
