By going to college I hope to get the education that I need in order to pursue my career in forensic psychology. Also, I hope to gain a sense of complete independence by living on my own and having to do everything for myself. I am going to college to major in forensic psychology and minor in criminal justice. I hope to eventually get my P.H.D and work for the BAU in the FBI. I am going to college for myself. I feel that getting a higher education after high schools is essential to my success. The characteristics that matter the most to me when I am choosing a college are the quality of the education, cost, location, and environment. When choosing the right college for me I will seek the input of my parents and counselors. They have always help guide me in a positive direction and give me honest opinions and advice regarding hard decisions I have to make. College will help me achieve my goals in many ways. Being on my own will force me to become independent, responsible, and self sufficient. Also, the way college classes are set up will help me with time management and prioritizing. After high school, going to college is the best option for me personally and I know it will benefit me in the future.

I found a job at IN-N-OUT burger in Lancaster. If I was to get this job my pay would begin at $10.50 an hour and I would be working as a cashier. This is an appropriate job for me because it is very close to my house, pays extremely well, and is not a hard job to do. Students like me would most likely want this job mainly because of how much it pays and it is not complicated work. To prepare for a possible interview I would print a copy of my resume, groom myself well, and come up with clear answers to possible questions they may ask me. I don't think finding a job online is a difficult task. If someone knows what type of job they are looking for, the amount they would like to be paid, and the general area they would like to work in, it is relatively easy. Overall finding a job as a teenager is not very complicated and can be done with hard work and willingness to sacrifice free time. I found this job online at www.in-n-out.com.

I thought the movie was very inspirational and taught me that no matter what obstacles are placed in the way of me and my goals I can overcome them and be successful. My favorite part of the film was when Liz was at the acceptance ceremony after being granted the scholarship and she said she would give it all up if she could have her family back. This was my favorite part because it shows how no matter what family is sacred and irreplaceable. Everyone loves their family in different ways and no matter what they put each other through they have an everlasting bond. I think that if I was put in the same situation I would be as resilient as she was. I am very self sufficient and motivated therefore, I think it would be hard to be on my own, but I could do it.

The thing that surprised me the most about my budget was how much I will be paying in car expenses a month! I didn't expected it to cost so much to have and maintain the car I want. Also, I expected that my phone bill would cost a lot more because my mom complains about how expensive it is so much. I think that I am ready for all of the responsibilities that come with living on my own and supporting myself. I had a few realizations when I was making my budget. One of them was that I will have to work more hours than I would like to and the other was that apartments are very expensive in the area I will be living in. I can work for the next two summers and get a job after school my senior year in order to start preparing for my college expenses. Also, I can start spending my money wiser and on important things, so that I will get used to being on a strict budget.

My Career
My top career choice is to be a sports psychologists. It interests me because I have always wanted to study psychology and I love sports, especially basketball. I want to study psychology in order to gain a better understanding of why people act the way they do. I feel like this will make me more aware of the world around me and allow me to empathize with people more. I chose to link my interest in psychology with sports because I think I would be happy to go to work everyday if I get to do something that I enjoy.

My score on the stress test was a 10 out of 24. Some things that stress me out are school, basketball, and stupid people. School stresses me out because there is so much that I must do in a certain time frame and to the best of my ability. The assignments that stress me out the most are dual credit papers and group projects. I want to do my absolute best on everything I do but, I feel like no matter how many times I rewrite a paper it still has flaws. Also, group projects stress me out, especially when I have a lazy partner or partners. I absolutely hate when I feel like the fate of my grade is in any one's hands besides mine! I hate having to do all the work when I should not have too but, I refuse to let anyone negatively affect my school work. Another thing that stresses me out is basketball. It stresses me out because I want to be the best and I don't take losing well. I always blame myself for mistakes and losses even though it is a team sport. After games I always think about all the mistakes I made and what I could have done better. I blame myself for every loss and I am my own biggest critic so, playing basketball is very stressful! The last thing that stresses me out is stupid people. I CANNOT stand stupidity, it literately enrages me!!! I have very little patience and a bad temper, which is a horrible combination. I deal with my stress by worrying about myself and remembering everything I do now will benefit me in the future. My life is very stressful but, I am learning to deal with it and keep my stress to a minimum as much as possible!

I can fight procrastination by being proactive and completing things as soon as possible. Also, I can be self motivated and driven. I know that I must do things to the best of my ability and on time in order to be successful in life. I can constantly remind myself I need to do whats best for me because I will benefit from it in the future and not do things to please others.
Procrastination can hurt you because, when you wait until the last minute to do something most of the time it is not your best work. Also, when you procrastinate a lot it becomes a habit. This can result in you forgetting to do things and not getting them done at all or not fully completing something due to lack of time. When you are known as procrastinator people may see you as unreliable and lazy which is not a good reputation to have.
My current organizational method is keeping a binder with a folder for each of my classes in it. I keep only the work, notes etc. for that one class in its designated folder. Also, each day I write a list of assignments and things I must complete that day on a sticky note. I check things off as I complete them. My method works because I am used to it and it helps me remember important things like going to talk to the counselor, signing up for the SAT and ACT, and what homework I have that day.
