Scholarships are very important and sometimes even vital to students gaining a higher education. They can assist students trying to go college by providing money for tuition and books. Also, they are in a sense a reward for students who work hard and dedicate themselves to their education. Scholarships allow students to focus more on school and working than on financial issues. It must be taken into consideration that tuition and books are not the only expenses students have in college. They need a place to live, transportation, food, and all of the other basic necessities. By getting a scholarship students will be less stressed and can make school their main focus school and then working to provide for themselves. Scholarships are very important and can help students in many ways.

To Do:
1. Submit Applications
2. Fill Out FASFA forms
3. Retake SAT and ACT

Timeline:
Applications - August 2015
Retake SAT - June 6
Retake ACT- June 13
FASFA Forms- August 2015

These are lists of things I need to do and when I plan on completing them. I feel as far as class rank and GPA I am where i need to be academically. However, I would like to retake my ACT and SAT because I feel I can get a higher score. I believe that the colleges on my list are for me because two of the three have a wonderful program and my major. Florida State is  a good option only if my mom moves to Florida. If she doesn't I will most likely go to school in Texas to avoid out of state fees. I do have a few other colleges in mind such as John Jay College of Criminal Justice, UNT, NYU, and possibly TCU. However, SMU,and the University of Denver are my top two preferred colleges I would like to attend.

I think the United States can be rated a 9 out of 10 compared to a 7 out of 10 in relation to the opportunities a education makes available in Australia. The United States offers more variety as far as classes, majors, degrees and careers. You can basically become anything you want to with the right education and work ethic. This is a more tedious task in Australia because of the different rules throughout the territories. I think overall the United States is the best country in the world regarding opportunities in education and the opportunities a higher education makes available to you.

I think a college degree is a necessity in order to thrive both economically and socially. In order for employers to take you seriously they must be able to tell that you can commit to something such as school and finish what you start. Having a degree not only shows commitment , but also shows that you are willing to sacrifice time you could use for other things and that you will work hard for something you really want. A degree is worth all of the time and money spent on obtaining it. A degree will allow you to have a wide variety of career choices and will make others see you as a more respectable, educated, and hard working person. In order to be successful economically you must have a good paying job and having a degree makes this much easier. Also, socially people with degrees are often seen as more intelligent and people tend to go to them with important tasks because it is apparent that they have a good work ethic.

My plans over spring break are to go shopping, get my nails done, find a job, and to get my hair done. I am looking forward to getting my hair done the most because I have been wanting it done for a long time. Also, i'm ready to get my nails done because I had to wait until after basketball, but I just haven't found the time to go. I also plan on spending time with my baby cousin and helping my aunt move. I plan on hanging out with a few friends I don't get to spend much time with and getting all my dual credit work done. I think this spring break will be very productive, fun, and eventful !

1. The most influential leader I ever had was my grandmother. She has had such a big influence on me because she is so strong minded and willed. She has a very independent, hard working, and tough personality. This has influenced me to be very independent, stand up for myself, and be self sufficient.
2. I think this means that poetry has a deeper meaning than just to rhyme. Poetry is a way to express feelings, emotions, and passions. I agree, I think that poetry is  wonderful way to release inner feelings whether they are good or bad. No matter who your are, how much money you make, what job you have, etc. everyone is human and one thing all humans have in common is feelings, dreams, and emotions. I believe that poetry is very deep and I think people read it in order to understand others and be able to empathize with how they feel.

3.This quote by Mr.Keating is very inspiring and actually makes me think on a deeper level about my perspective on things. I agree that no matter how much you think you understand something there's always a different way to think about it. There's always multiple perspectives on things and everyone will see certain things differently.

4. My verse that I will contribute in my lifetime is being an example of a person who constantly was faced with adversity but, was able to overcome it and succeed despite what everyone says and thinks. I hope the lasting impression that I leave behind will be that I was a leader, intelligent, and self sufficient.

1. I think that Neil would have committed suicide way before he did if Mr.Keating had never come into his life. Mr.Keating encouraged Neil to follow his dreams, in particular acting. He even came to support him on the opening night of the play and praised him for doing such a good job. Mr.Keating was a source of encouragement for Neil and without him I think Neil would have killed him self way earlier in life.

2. I think Knox was really the bravest boy in the group. He continued to pursue the girl of his dreams despite her rejecting him. Her boyfriend even physically assaulted Knox, but that did not stop him from bringing flowers to her school and taking her to Neil's play. I think the real coward of the group was Richard. He turned on the boys at the end of the story and even went as far as too tell Headmaster Nolan that Neil's death was Mr.Keating's fault. He also told him the names of the boys involved in the Dead Poets Society and explained what the group was, where they met, and where they got the idea to start the group from.

3.Mr.Keating did put the book in Neil's room. I think that he did this to secretly encourage the boys to form a poetry group. This would allow them to express their feelings and emotions in a healthy way.
